Dr. Abramson provides general mental health care and psychiatric services for adults. He treats mood, thought and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic conditions, and reactions to stress.

 

Dr. Abramson is board-certified in General Psychiatry and his individualized treatment plans include use of psychotherapeutic modalities and psychopharmacologic interventions when necessary.

Forensic

As an ABPN board-certified Forensic Psychiatrist, 

Dr. Abramson applies scientific and clinical expertise to civil, correctional, and legislative legal issues.

 

Attorneys and governments throughout the country--including the US Department of Justice, Medicare and Medicaid programs, and the State of Florida Board of Medicine--have leveraged Dr. Abramson's consultative services and expertise. He maintains membership in the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law and has over 25 years experience in Independent Medical Evaluations, Peer Review, and Utilization Review.

Dr. Abramson has also been qualified as an expert in federal and state courts as well as internationally. He has testified in complex cases via deposition and trial testimony.

Geriatric

This subspecialty of psychiatry applies clinical expertise to treating older adults.

Dr. Abramson is dedicated to promoting the mental health and well-being of older persons and improving the care of those with late-life mental disorders.

 

Dr. Abramson works with families, primary care physicians, and ancillary resources in the community for a holistic approach to geriatric psychiatry.

 

Dr. Abramson is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in the Psychiatric subspecialty of Geriatric Psychiatry.

Addiction

Addiction Psychiatry deals with disorders of substance abuse and other behavioral addictions, using a multi-disciplinary approach including outpatient treatments, modalities of psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, 12-step programs, and community resources. Consultation and treatment are provided in a discrete and confidential setting.

 

 Dr. Abramson can also help secure appropriate inpatient detoxification if medically necessary.

Dr. Abramson is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in the Psychiatric subspecialty of Addiction Psychiatry. He is also certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the outpatient maintenance and detoxification treatment of opiate addiction with Buprenorphine (Suboxone and Subutex).
